New Projects!

March 31st, 2007 3 comments

I’ve been working on a few projects recently. One, which is the Tin Foil DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) Pad. Amazingly, it actually works (most of the time). The whole thing is made out of a cardboard base, tin foil, wires, and an old keyboard (see photo). I used StepMania (Click here) to emulate DDR.

Also, I’ve been working on a few posters. I give anyone who wants it permission to use it for personal purposes. The first one is a Windows Vista Poster, the second a Dell Axim X51v poster.

A Third? Already?

March 28th, 2007 No comments

I mean it, I really finished a third Zelda game (already). This time it was Four Swords Adventures for the Gamecube. This game was quite enjoyable, even though the graphics stunk (2-d, and awful animations). I like how the game was “Mario-Style” (where there are levels while you travel, so each part of the game is separate from the rest), this also enabled me when I had a limited amount of time to get something done. I’ll be writing a review for each of these Zelda Games as soon as I have a good chunk of time. Sorry that I couldn’t find a good video for the ending of this game.

EBay Parody – by Weird Al Yankovic

March 25th, 2007 No comments

I thought that this video was worth posting here. “EBay” is a parody of the song “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys explaining eBay. I also noticed how similar the song is to the original, I put a music video of both of them here so you can see the similarities.

Well we still have to wait a few months for the iPhone to come out. This is a funny video featuring “Steve Jobs” (I’m not sure who that is acting) explaining the iPhone, Enjoy!!

The End of Not One but Two – The Minish Cap

March 17th, 2007 No comments

WARNING: This Contains Spoilers (no duh)

Okay, this is the second Zelda Game that I completed this weekend. At first you enter the room and have to fight various enemies by the time of three chimes, otherwise Zelda will die. On of the group of enemies were a bunch of Darknuts, and to make it worse three of them, plus one of them were those Super ones. After you get to Vatti he fights you in a “Sorcerer’s” transformation, then as a Wind Thing, and finally a big black glob (as in video). Overall, Minish Cap was a pretty good game, especially for passing the time.

The End of Not One but Two – Twilight Princess

March 17th, 2007 No comments

WARNING: Contains Spoilers if you are playing (or planning to) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and do not want the ending to be spoiled, turn away now!!!

Yeah!! I finally finished Twilight Princess. I battled Zant, Zelda (being possessed by Ganondorf), Ganon (the Giant Pig), Ganondorf on horseback, and finally a one-on-one duel with Ganondorf!!! Zant’s battle was very disappointing it was way too easy; it made him seem like a maniac and a weakling. Then after a bunch of more battles, I arrived at the door to the final fight. There I met Ganondorf (for the first time in the game) and he possessed Zelda. That fight was awfully like the Ganondorf fight in The Ocarina of Time and the Phantom Ganon from The Wind Waker. It was the “ping pong until the get hit” style. Then came the Evin Pig. He just trampled around, rarely hitting us, I on the other hand hit arrows onto his forehead and then slashing him. In the second part, I was forced to be a wolf and push him aside. Not too long after that Ganondorf gets on his horse. Zelda using her light arrows(Wind Waker players: sound familiar?) shoot him to slow him down, while Link goes up to him and slashing him. Finally the duel. You basically run around trying to hit him (or turn him red) and you defeat him by stabbing him through the stomach. Following is a video showing the the entire last part of the game (also contains spoilers).

Windows Vista or Windows XP?

March 12th, 2007 No comments

As most of you know, Windows Vista’s beta software expires around June. Since, there were quite a few bugs and other problems with the beta, I restored my laptop back to Windows XP. When you see the screen shots, don’t expect the XP interface (The green button and blue taskbar). You’ll still be seeing Windows Xp, but with a Vista skin and the Google Sidebar.

This is a guide to bring the Vista Interface to your Windows Xp PC. First of all, this involves changing your computer’s system files, so if you aren’t comfortable to do this, then consider a software called Windowblinds (It costs some money but there is a trial version). Then you can find skins at http://www.wincustomize.com.

There are two ways to achieve the look. You can install the Windows Transformation Pack at http://www.windowsxlive.net/?p=361. This will install the whole Windows Vista style. Be warned, you may not get the results you want. Also, you’ll want to make a backup (or at least a System Restore Point) just in case something bad happens.

The other way is a little more manual. You can search for skins (I use deviantart.com and then searched for Windows Vista. I used the skin from the Windows Vista Inspirat Pack RC1.) online and apply them. You’ll also need a uxtheme.dll patch which you can get here: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/UXTheme-MultiPatcher-Download-2369.html. The patch will enable you to use third-party skins.

Next, you will need to copy the files to the Windows Directory: (Your Drive):
\Resources\Themes. Then go to Display Properties (Right click on desktop then properties), and apply the theme. If it isn’t there, manually apply it by double clicking the theme file in the Theme’s folder. Now you pc should look like Vista, except for the start button, it is cut off. That’s why there is the handy tool in the pack known as VistaStart, which makes the orb full, if it isn’t placed right, move it! Feel free to try other skins on the internet and the other features in the Windows Vista Inspirat Pack.

Also, you might want to install a sidebar there is one in the Inspirat Pack but you can also use Google Desktop (In Screenshot) or the Desktop Sidebar. Enjoy your new *Windows Vista PC*!

NOTE: I’m not responsible for any damage caused by this procedure. Do this at your own risk!

New Projects

March 1st, 2007 No comments

I haven’t posted much recently, and there is a good reason for it. During the past few days, I have been starting up and managing other Funknowledge Projects. I started the Funknowledge Group which is at http://groups.google.com/group/funknowledge. A group is like a website that any member can edit, and can discuss different topics (sort of like a wiki). If you have any problems about your website, blog etc.. post a comment and we’ll try to help!

Also, I’ve been working on iLife. I noticed that it was hard to read the story on the blog so I created a few pages where you can read them. One is on the Funknowledge Group (see link above) and the other is on a website created by Zackbot (the evil robot from my story. Click here)

A little news: Adobe is planning to make an online version of Photoshop. How cool is that!? Of course it won’t be as sophisticated as the real pricey version, but oh well, it’s Photoshop for free!
